The College of Science is pleased to announce the return of Discover, our annual student research symposium (formerly known as the Annual Celebration of Excellence by Students, or ACES). The event will be a hybrid of asynchronous poster viewing through this website, culminating in a live exhibition of posters and a showcase of the best of undergraduate and graduate research posters in the UTA Planetarium.
The first phase of Discover will be online, where participating students will upload a video of themselves (5 minutes maximum) explaining their research poster for a general audience. Posters will be judged by a panel of faculty and alumni. On April 19, all students will have the opportunity to display their posters in the corridors of CPB and CRB and explain their research for students, faculty, and the public.
The top 5 undergraduate and top 5 graduate students from online judging will be invited to present in-person on April 19 in the Planetarium, where they will each have 5 minutes to explain their poster and the relevance of their work to society for the audience and our VIP judges before the final award presentation.
