Abstract
Music has been known to have several therapeutic qualities. It has been used as a means to reduce stress, improve memory, and much more, but what about those individuals unable to experience the benefits of music due to hearing impairments. SoundSquad seeks to bring the joy of music to all individuals with our SoundSquad vest. The SounSquad vest is a vest that outputs the vibration of music. Shakers are used to produce the vibration of low, mid, and high pass frequencies in music. The vest is focused for the hearing impaired but can be purchased by anyone.
Background
Project Requirements
- A vest that produces vibrations of the low frequencies in a song
- A vest that produces vibrations of the mid frequencies in a song
- A vest that produces vibrations of the high frequencies in a song
- Ability to mobility power the vest so it can be used anywhere
- A website that displays vest details and allows users to purchase the vest
System Overview
A circuit was built to take in music signals from an aux input that will be connected directly to the user’s phone. The sound waves are filtered into lows, mids, and highs. These sound waves are converted to frequencies and passed to shakers (speakers), that release the vibrations of that frequency.
