Research

My area of research is in Applied Mathematics/Computational Neuroscience in the area of modeling synaptic transmission of NMDA receptors. This is a brain receptor activated by the amino acid glutamate, which when excessively stimulated may cause cognitive defects in Alzheimer’s disease; also called N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor.

Interests

I enjoy games and puzzles, playing and watching sports especially soccer and football. I enjoy grilling and barbecuing with friends and family and playing with my 2 Dachshunds: Astro and Rhetro.

Biography

I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics at Midwestern State University in 2003 and my Master of Science in Mathematics at the University of Texas at Dallas in 2005.

I was born and raised in Wichita Falls, Texas. I have been married for 3 years to wife Kissi who just finished her family practice residency.
