Research
My research field involves using mathematical models to gain new insights in the field of biology and medicine. I am currently working on modeling portions of the immune response that occurs when medical implant devices are placed below the skin. Through the analysis of carefully constructed reaction diffusion equations, we can match our model to biological experiments and discover new insights about the complex interactions involved in the response process that may otherwise be hard to identify or expensive to track at an experimental level.
Interests
I play the trumpet and had a blast the four years when I was a member of the HPU Yellow Jacket Marching band. I enjoy cooking and baking and pretty much any project where a little bit of creativity and measurement is involved! I have a great Church family at FBCA and love service projects and fellowship there
Biography
I graduated with the Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Howard Payne University, and after being privileged with a student teaching assignment to work under Hilary Baucom at Early Middle school, completed a Texas teaching credential for 8-12 Mathematics. I received a Master of Science in Mathematics from UTA in December 2011 and am currently working towards my PhD at UTA under Dr. Jianzhong Su.
