Research
I am currently working on Numerical Linear Algebra. My main focus is optimization. A sudden increase in amounts of data is happening in the world. As a result manipulations of data at high speed are desired.
Interests/Hobbies
Playing guitar, running, drawing, dancing salsa, reading, video game tournaments, science and traveling
Biography
I am originally from Puerto Rico where I went to a small high school. I received my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus in Mathematics and Chemistry in June 2010. I started my PhD in August 2010 and I was an LSAMP-BD (Lewis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation-Bridge to Doctorate) Fellow for my first two years as a graduate student before being accepted as a GK-12 MAVS Fellow. I am also the president of the Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) student chapter at UT Arlington.
