Grants

CIRTL (Center for the Integrations of Research, Teaching and Learning) was established in 2003 with the support from the National Science Foundation (NSF) grant to improve the teaching skills and increase the diversity of future STEM university faculty members. Over its twenty-year history, CIRTL has added 45+ research universities that produce one-third of the US doctoral degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. While, CIRTL has its roots founded in STEM, its teaching and learning programming is open to STEM and non-STEM fields.
Assistance with Proposal Development:
For faculty who are writing NSF CAREER proposals or other proposals where professional development of graduate students or postdocs is expected as a broader impact, the CIRTL-UTA Teaching Certificate Program is a widely recognized option for developing knowledge and skills for teaching and learning. Those faculty considering this option for their proposals can contact Dr. Jim Grover, Dean of the Graduate School, for advice.
