NextGen Faculty Academy

The NextGen Faculty Academy was designed to prepare doctoral students and post-doc researchers in their career development especially participants interested in pursuing careers in academia or industry.  The NextGen Faculty Academy provides participants the opportunities and support needed to prepare them to and their career goals. NextGen Faculty Academy will meet as a cohort six times during the academic year. Three sessions will be in the fall semester and three sessions in the spring session.  Each session is 2 hours in length.  Session topics include: creating career plans/goals, executive presence, personal branding, being a good colleague and collaborator, higher education hiring process, mock interviews, writing CV and covers, just to name a few.  As these sessions will lean towards careers in academia, sessions can also benefit participants pursuing careers in industry.  Sessions will include guest presenters and multiple opportunities for participants to engage and receive peer feedback.  Because of the possible sensitive nature of some of the topics and to allow participants to have open discussion, sessions will not be recorded.
