Level 4:  Scholar Certificate

The Scholar Certificate is the final level and focuses on advancing and disseminating teaching and learning.  Graduate students will present or publish their Teaching-as-Research Project (created in level 3) and write a brief reflection statement about advancing and disseminating teaching and learning.  They will also participate as a learning community builder and serve as a graduate student peer mentor.  They will also attend UTA Maverick NextGen Faculty Academy to prepare them for future careers and finalize their Professional Portfolio.  The requirements of this certificate level are designed to be completed over one academic year and has a combination of in-person, synchronous, and asynchronous requirements.

Requirements:

  • UTA Maverick NextGen Faculty Academy (6 sessions:  3 in the Fall and 3 in the Spring semesters) 
  • Participate as a Learning Community Builder
  • Present or publish Teaching-as-Research Project (TAR Project)
  • Serve as a Graduate Student Peer Mentor
  • Brief reflection statement about advancing and disseminating teaching and learning
